Established on Dublin’s Bow Street in 1780, John Jameson set about creating the world’s most loved Irish whiskey. For the next 200 years there was always a descendant of John Jameson working for the company, with each generation building on the success of the last. The Bow Street Distillery finally closed in 1975, with its operations moving to Midleton, Co. Cork.

The Glenfiddich distillery is located in the region of Speyside in Scotland and is known for producing high end single malts whiskey since the 18th century.
Tasting Notes: Glenfiddich 12-Year-Old
Palate: Apple cobbler; orchard fruits; artificial vanilla extract; caramel; bitter oak; cinnamon; English breakfast tea. The finish is medium to short with a bittersweet death. This malt is a quintessential yet unremarkable Speyside.
Glenfiddich’s 15-year-old single malt Scotch whisky has been matured in three oak barrels including Spanish sherry oak, American bourbon oak and new American oak barrels. It is fused and stood in a Surola fusion tank, with rich layers and aftertaste. long.
The 15 Year Old gets its distinctive rich and exotic character from a process of selective maturation in which a proportion of the spirit is matured in French oak casks. In fact, we at The Glenlivet were one of the first to use French oak for making whisky, a technique that has since been imitated the world over. The Limousin oak we use is cut in France’s Dordogne region, where it’s often used to mature cognacs. Its low density allows whisky to sink deep into the wood, and we carefully control how long the whisky matures in the casks so as not to overpower the desired result: a unique, pleasing spiciness.
