Jameson The Cooper’s Croze
0 out of 5(0)Five Generations of influence.
When you have a skill that’s been passed down through five generations of your family, you deserve a tribute that can be enjoyed by the next five. The Cooper’s Croze – part of the Whiskey Makers Series – is an Irish Whiskey that celebrates the craft of our Head Cooper, Ger Buckley. It honours his mastery at selecting, repairing and maintaining the treasured casks at our Midleton distillery and the tools he uses to do so.
Nose
A subtle flower petal-perfume develops into rich ripe fruits, while some charred oak and cedar wood bring balance and complexity – a seamless infusion of American and Spanish oak character.
Taste
The initial impression is from the sweet vanilla of the American ex-bourbon barrels. This brings added depth to the rich fruits typical of the ex-oloroso sherry butts. A pleasant touch of hazelnut and toasted wood complement the pot still spices.
Finish
Pleasantly long, with vanilla sweetness slowly fading to barley grains with a touch of oak char.

THE GLENLIVET 15 YO – 700ML
0 out of 5(0)The 15 Year Old gets its distinctive rich and exotic character from a process of selective maturation in which a proportion of the spirit is matured in French oak casks. In fact, we at The Glenlivet were one of the first to use French oak for making whisky, a technique that has since been imitated the world over. The Limousin oak we use is cut in France’s Dordogne region, where it’s often used to mature cognacs. Its low density allows whisky to sink deep into the wood, and we carefully control how long the whisky matures in the casks so as not to overpower the desired result: a unique, pleasing spiciness.
