Andean Vineyards was founded in San Juan in 1914. Established in the heart of the Argentine Andes, it started as a little 50.000 liter project which gradually grew into what we know today. Nowadays, the winery has facilities in both, San Juan and Mendoza, the two main wine regions in Argentina. Andean Vineyards is recognized for producing wines of excellent value for money, and for expressing Argentina’s Terroir in every bottle. The history of KVINT dates back to 1897, when the first rectification warehouse was built and launched into operation on Vokzalnaya Street in Tiraspol. At that time it was specialized in production of 40% alc. vodka from homemade grape wines purchased from the peasants of nearby villages. The production of divins was started 4 decades later – first wine-distilled spirits were put for ageing in 1938.The Winery has its own raw materials source – approximately 2000 hectares of vineyards, where we grow more than 30 varieties of grapes. Tasting Notes
Bright and straw coloured with greenish tints. Complex and subtle on the nose, there are peach and apricot aromas with hints of citrus and smokiness. Rich and mouth-filling in style, with moreish tropical fruit flavours, nuanced vanilla and nicely balanced acidity.
Food Pairing
Ideal as an aperitif but also goes well pasta, paella and all sorts of tapas, especially grilled fish, smoked hams and cheeses.
Technical Information
The goal was to create a distinctive style of wine by harnessing the qualities of three different but complementary grape varieties from several notable winegrowing regions in Spain. Fermentations take place in stainless steel tanks over 20-25 days at maximum temperatures of 15ºC. Once the vinification process is complete, the wine is left on its lees at low temperature for 2-3 months to develop secondary flavour characteristics. In the case of Chardonnay, the wine remains in French oak barrels for 3 months, with batonnage (stirring the lees) occurring several times a week.
